A tribute to players who loved the game DayZ — and have passed away in real life. Wooden crosses, placed by Bohemia Interactive, mark their memory on the DayZ vanilla maps. Each one was requested by friends or family. May they rest in peace.
This project exists to document the in-game memorials of DayZ and preserve the stories behind them. Over time, I’ve gathered as much reliable information as possible about these crosses and the people they represent. Some remain anonymous, but where names and backgrounds are known, they are recorded here.
The goal is simple: to ensure that these places and the lives connected to them are not overlooked. If you are exploring Chernarus or Livonia, I hope this collection helps you understand the meaning behind these locations and encourages you to visit them with that in mind.
If you discover a memorial that is not yet listed, or if you know the story behind one, especially if it honors someone close to you, feel free to reach out on Reddit or Discord.
